Riding the cable car up Table Mountain is only one of the several activities you can do with us! Below is a list of things you can do on a solo adventure, or with your loved ones at the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway.
What to do
Retail therapy on the mountain.
For many of our visitors, the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway experience is a memorable one. To remember this time with us, visitors often purchase souvenirs, gifts, and clothing. There are four retail outlets stocking a great selection of merchandise, from affordable goodies to luxury items. Many of these retail items are only available here at Table Mountain. 97% of our products in our retail outlets are sourced locally.
An open-air venue situated outside the Views by De Grendel, in the same building where the cable-car docks. This balcony faces the Twelve Apostle’s mountain range and is a fantastic site for lunch time and sunset cocktail functions. Maximum capacity is 24 people, standing with optional bench seating. Wine tasting is on offer at VIEWS.
The Cableway offers outdoor venues perfect for cocktail parties, post-conference drinks, weddings, product launches, end-of-year parties, incentives, and more.

If hiking, explorations, stunning views and the stillness of nature make you excited, then a hike up Table Mountain should definitely be on your Cape Town bucket list. Hikers should only travel in groups, during the day, and take plenty of water and warm clothing. In bad weather the Cableway may be closed, so be prepared to hike down if need be. Platteklip Gorge Hike
Platteklip Gorge is the easiest by miles. A straightforward walk up a series of switchbacks and staircases, the route involves no climbing over boulders or inching along crumbling ledges.
But you will need to be reasonably fit, suitably equipped, well watered and sun-blocked. Be prepare to share: the Platteklip route is very popular and often crowded in summer. It is, however, the safest route up, well patrolled and maintained, and there’s always time to stop and have a chat with fellow red-faced hikers.
