Winter holiday fun on Table Mountain
Kids can have a ball on top of Table Mountain these winter holidays. Table Mountain Cableway is running a fabulous holiday programme for children from Thursday June 10 to Tuesday July 12.
The holiday programme is part of Cableway’s family winter special that kicked off on May 1 and runs until Sunday October 31. Two kids under 18 years ride for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult.
The kids’ entertainment programme is running during the five-week long holiday and features a Winter Treasure Trail (maps available from the ticket office), spot prizes, magic shows, Diski dance lessons and craft activities. Children will be entertained and taken on guided walks by the Table Mountain Cableway characters - Ernie the Explorer and Dale the Dassie. Additional activities include story-telling of the Myths and Legends of Table Mountain.
Most of the kids’ activities are offered at the special Winter Wonderland Activity Centre located in top station building. In order to get to the Winter Wonderland kids will have to follow the clues that are handed out by the Winter Fairy. The Winter Wonderland is open every day from 9am till 4pm.
The Table Mountain Café is offering a delicious kiddies wonderland menu - pizza, hot dog or a chicken schnitzel for R30 each plus a free cup of hot chocolate or fruit juice.
Kids stand a chance of winning their own Table Mountain Cableway beanie and scarf, every month till October 31, 2010. Fill in the entry form on the back of the Winter Treasure Trail map.
The Shop at the Top offers a wide variety of souvenirs and gifts to keep the entire family happy.
The winter special is valid over weekends and public holidays from May 1 until October 31, 2010 and every day of the following school holidays - June 10 to July 12 and September 24 to October 3, 2010.
The Cableway’s Family Winter Special ticket price is adult return R160 and includes two children under 18 years travelling free (normal child rate R80). Valid on return fares only.
