Table Mountain Aerial Cableway – then and now
As these photos show, the cableway has become a lot more high-tech over the years, since its launch in 1929.
Would you have stepped into the old cable car?
It is now sleek, fast (it takes just five minutes to get to the top), and has a rotating floor to make sure that, as passengers head up the mountain, they all get a 360° aerial view – a far cry from the corrugated iron cars of yesteryear.
