Photo essay: Photographing Table Mountain

Julian Knutzen is the top contributor for the official Table Mountain Cableway Flickr group. Hailing from Germany, Julian has submitted 42 gorgeous images of Table Mountain to our group. He was kind enough to share some of his favourite shots, as well as his commentary, with us.

During my two trips to South Africa as a tourist from Germany, visiting Cape Town with its iconic landmark Table Mountain was always something special to me.

From the beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton ...

... or the bustling V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain offers great reasons and possibilities for photographers to capture the beauty of Cape Town.

Once you have arrived on top, you are overwhelmed by the panoramic view of the Mother City with its harbour ...

... the view towards Signal Hill and Lion’s Head ...

... or by the magnificent coastline along the Twelve Apostles towards Hout Bay. It definitely is, as we call it in Germany, the most beautiful end of the world and I am planning my next visit.
