Table Mountain Cableway annual maintenance approaching
The Table Mountain Cableway will be closed for annual maintenance from Monday, July 18 to Sunday, July 31, 2011. This means that it will be open for business again on August 1, weather-permitting.
The safety of all visitors to the Table Mountain Cableway is the first and foremost priority, and that’s why extensive maintenance and safety checks are conducted on the cable cars annually, ensuring that strict international standards are met.
The Swiss Governing Body for Cableways has requirements that must be met each and every year.
But in the periods before and after maintenance, don’t forget to take advantage of the fantastic birthday special on offer. If it is your birthday and you are over 18, you can claim a free return ticket on presentation of a South African ID. And don’t worry – should your birthday fall during the maintenance period, you can still claim the free ticket either a week before or a week after closure.
Please note: The Cableway Visitor Centre will be closed during the annual maintenance period. No Cable Card applications will be processed during this time. Feel free to email cablecard@tablemountain.net should you have any queries.

Comments
Please can you confirm if maintenance will go on until Friday 29th July or Sunday 31st July?
Many thanks!
Daisy
Hi Daisy! Until Sunday 31 July, therefore we will open again on 1 August 2011, weather permitting.
Will the cableway be open for business on the 18th?
Or will the 17th be the last operating day?
(i have a group scheduled for the 19th but could probably do the 18th)
Hi Chris - the 17th will be out last operating day, weather permitting.
