Table Mountain’s status as one of the New7Wonders of Nature has become official after an international audit confirmed the result of a global voting process.

It’s time to put on your winter woollies, gather up your children and take advantage of Table Mountain Cableway’s annual Kidz Season special that kicks off on May 1, 2012.

Table Mountain Cableway will start upgrading its chemical toilets on top of the mountain from Thursday, April 26, 2012, weather permitting.

The fourth annual K-Way Platteklip Charity Challenge on 21 April will see an estimated 100 participants racing up and down Table Mountain to raise a target of R500 000 for Sinenjongo High School in Joe Slovo Park, Milnerton. If physical endurance is not for you, then there are other ways of getting involved, including making a donation and sponsoring a runner, as the athletes each aim to raise a minimum of R2 000.

Table Mountain Cableway is showing their love for leap-year babies over the age of 18 who miss out on celebrating their birthday every year by offering a special leap year promotion.

Table Mountain Cableway will be closed for annual maintenance from Monday July 18 to Sunday July 31 this year. 

The 2011 maintenance plan includes major power line repairs and servicing the hydraulics and main motor gear box. Table Mountain Cableway is required to do annual maintenance to meet the highest global cableway standards set by the Swiss Governing Body for Cableways (BAV).
