We are still on cloud nine after Table Mountain’s New7Wonder of Nature inauguration last week.

Table Mountain was officially inaugurated as a New7Wonder of Nature yesterday, Sunday December 2 2012 and what an auspicious occasion it was.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to those who voted, the world over, to have Table Mountain named as an official New7Wonder of Nature.

Cape Town’s iconic Table Mountain was officially inaugurated as one of the New7Wonders of Nature in Pretoria on Monday, the third of the weekend-long celebrations.

Table Mountain forms part of the Table Mountain National Park, which is managed by South African National Parks (SANParks).

Dr David Mabunda, SANParks CEO, said: “Long after we are gone, Table Mountain National Park will remain a national park and now it will forever more remain a New7Wonder of Nature.”

Table Mountain officially became one of the New7Wonders of Nature early on Sunday morning, but it was not until Sunday evening that the real partying began!

It was a proud moment for all South Africans when the official inauguration of Table Mountain as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature took place at a ceremony held at the foot of the Mountain on Sunday, 2 December 2012.

Table Mountain’s New7Wonder of Nature inauguration is almost upon us and we are excited to welcome a host of local and international delegates to Cape Town and Table Mountain.

Delegates from the other six New7Wonders of Nature will also be in attendance, including the current Ambassador of Vietnam Tourism Ly Nha Ky.
