Table Mountain’s status as one of the New7Wonders of Nature has become official after an international audit confirmed the result of a global voting process.

Table Mountain will be represented at the New7Wonders of Nature inauguration at the Princesa Underground River in the Philippines on Sunday, April 22, 2012.

Seeing Table Mountain emerge on the horizon must have been an awe-inspiring moment for the Dutch settlers who arrived in the Cape in 1652.

Splash PR grabbed the top spot in the PRISM Awards’ Overall Gold Award category, thanks to its Vote for Table Mountain Campaign to have Table Mountain named as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

We can’t wait to celebrate Table Mountain’s New7Wonders status, as it makes its way into the history books and becomes one of the most celebrated natural icons in the world.

So far, Jeju Island and the Puerto Princesa underground river have had their New7Wonders status confirmed, and soon Table Mountain will take its official place alongside these beautiful destinations.
