Table Mountain Cableway reaches a record number of visitors
11 January 2012The Cableway ended 2011 on a high note when it recorded an impressive 116 000 visitors this past December. Table Mountain’s recent New7Wonders of Nature accolade, stretches of good weather conditions, as well as the Cableway’s growing online ticket sales (with shorter ticket office queues as a result) meant that December was an ideal month for visitors to the Mother City’s famous mountain.
Table Mountain 2012: Bigger, bolder, better
5 January 2012The year 2011 was a particularly good year for the Cableway. We hosted record numbers at the summit of one of the newly elected New7Wonders of Nature (visitors included Israeli beauties and WWE superstars), the mountain enjoyed snow for the second year running, and Cape Town even witnessed a curious cloud formation or two. Our Facebook fan page and Twitter profile became very popular and we gained many great new fans!
New Year’s Eve on Table Mountain
30 December 2011If you’re looking to ring in the new year from a unique vantage point, the top of Table Mountain offers the perfect experience. From up high, you can put 2011 to rest and welcome 2012 – come make some fresh resolutions (or not!) and absorb the exquisite natural surroundings while getting an eyeful of beautiful Cape Town. Our Sunset Special and meal offerings will complete the enchanted last sunset of 2011. The last car up on December 31, 2011 is at 23h00, and the last car down is at 01h00 on January 1, 2012.
Christmas festivities with the Cableway
24 December 2011The Cableway is keeping things festive this December, with lots planned for visitors over the Christmas period. Father Christmas is indeed coming to town, and will be visiting the Cableway on Saturday, December 24, and Sunday, December 25.
