The fourth annual K-Way Platteklip Charity Challenge on 21 April will see an estimated 100 participants racing up and down Table Mountain to raise a target of R500 000 for Sinenjongo High School in Joe Slovo Park, Milnerton. If physical endurance is not for you, then there are other ways of getting involved, including making a donation and sponsoring a runner, as the athletes each aim to raise a minimum of R2 000.

The K-Way Platteklip Charity Challenge 2012 is around the corner, set to take place on Saturday, April 21. It’s almost time for the runners who have registered to lace up those running shoes and build up a sweat for one of South Africa’s most famous races – and for a good cause to boot.

Seeing Table Mountain emerge on the horizon must have been an awe-inspiring moment for the Dutch settlers who arrived in the Cape in 1652.

On March 13, Grade 2 learners from Groote Schuur Primary swapped their classroom for a few hours on Table Mountain, as part of the Class in the Clouds programme run by Table Mountain Cableway.

The Cableway will be exhibiting at this year’s popular Getaway Show, Africa’s leading travel and outdoor expo.
