On Friday, November 5, 40 of our Facebook, Twitter and Flickr fans headed to the summit of Table Mountain, each with a friend, to celebrate the launch of our Sunset Special, but mostly to kick back after a long week and kick start the weekend in a different way … Not only were they treated to fantastic cocktails and snack at the top, but at sunset the clouds formed their own homage to Table Mountain …

Table Mountain Cableway’s BeenThere.tv camera at the Upper Cable Station has been incredibly popular. The booth, which allows visitors to take pictures of themselves and then view the product, complete with a themed frame, online, was installed during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. In just a few short months, 42 081 pictures have been taken here. We thought we’d share some of our favourites.

Did you know that Table Mountain Cableway hosts about one wedding a week? Our function venues are a firm favourite with couples – from here and abroad – who want to tie the knot, or promise to do so, in an exceptional setting.

Table Mountain Cableway, City Sightseeing Cape Town (the bright red open-top bus)  and Two Oceans Aquarium have joined forces for the Go Cape Town Card, an all-inclusive ticket for the three popular tourism attractions. From October 1, visitor pay R375 per card, which includes a return trip on the Cableway, a visit to the Two Oceans Aquarium and a ride on an open-top City Sightseeing bus. Children under 18 years pay R190 per card.

Every year around this time, Cape Town starts buzzing with anticipation of a very special Cableway offer. As the days get longer, our unrivalled sunsets happen later … and so does the Cableway’s closing. By now you’ve probably cottoned on to what we mean. We’re talking about our beloved Sunset Special, which makes its welcome return on November 1. This year, we’re upping the ante on two fronts: We’ve introduced scrumptious ride-and-dine offers at the Summit Lounge and Table Mountain Café and, for the first time, we’re making tickets for these offers available online.
